Meet Abbey, Owner & Trainer at AK Kennel

My name is Abbey, and I am the sole operator behind AK Kennel. I have built this business from the ground up, and I am incredibly proud of how far it has come — for so many reasons.

I’m a wife, a boy mom of two, a dog mom of four, a lifelong entrepreneur at heart, and a passionate dog lover to my core. Born and raised in Caldwell, Idaho, my roots run deep in this beautiful state — just like my love for dogs.

Dogs have always played a significant role in my life, and they continue to today. From the moment I meet a client’s dog, they become part of my extended pack.

I officially entered the dog training industry in 2016 after spending two years seeking mentorship through shadow programs with established trainers — and being turned away at every turn. That experience fueled my determination to learn everything I could on my own.

Through reading, studying, testing techniques, and working hands-on with countless dogs, I developed a style and program uniquely my own — blending proven methods with real-world experience.

I approach every dog and owner with an open mind and a broad set of tools, creating a customized plan that fits each dog’s needs, rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all method.

In my programs, you’ll learn with your dog, gaining the confidence and skills to continue building on your success long after training sessions end.

Every dog is different, and because of that, the equipment, rewards, and even commands may vary from client to client — but the results are always the same:

A happy, healthy, and obedient dog, and an owner who feels confident, empowered, and proud of the work they’ve accomplished.

At AK Kennel, it’s not just about training dogs — it’s about building lasting relationships, fostering trust, and helping both dogs and owners thrive together.
